Dog and Pet Friendly Holidays
We welcome well-behaved dogs. We specialise in pet friendly holidays here and you are very welcome to bring your dog to stay......... We also welcome your well behaved cat, tortoise, pet rabbit or pony!
There's space to explore and plenty of good walks, right from the door of your hut. You have your very own enclosed private little paddock with a wonderful view. There are lovely walks from your paddock gate along our flower filled lanes and across Treworgey's beautiful 150 acres of rolling green hills with fabulous views to the sea and the Looe river. We have outside taps available at your shower room and around the farm which come in handy in winter for those who like to walk for miles whatever the weather.
In your hut is an information folder giving information about local attractions and beaches that welcome dogs, including our personal recommendations. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter holidays are all very popular. Out of season holidays are reasonably priced and have the advantage of the weather not being too hot for the dogs, Cornwall is less crowded and we have a wealth of fantastic coastal walks as well as wonderful woodlands. The moors are only 20 minutes away. Added to that, there are lots more wonderful beaches open to dogs outside the peak summer months.
Our prices include logs for your fires, 12V solar powered electricity for lighting, hot water for showering, a really comfortable full size double bed, with crisp cotton linen and towels, fresh flowers and tea, coffee, milk and Cornish goodies to greet you. Please note we make a charge of £5 per dog per night or £20 per dog per week. This is because we put throws on the furniture and wash them each time. We also allow time for an extra clean. We do this in case other guests are allergic to dogs and we feel that the charge helps towards us ensuring that the next person won't be likely to come across a stray dog hair that might set them sneezing!
We are dog lovers ourselves and have had wonderful times over the years walking and riding with our collie dogs Bob and Meg. Sadly Bob Dog and Meggie are gone but nowadays it is scruffy little Rabbit (terrier cross poodle) who is here to greet you. We are a farm here at Treworgey and sheep, cattle, horses, chickens and ducks roam our fields. We do ask guests to follow the country code and leave all gates as you find them and keep dogs on a lead when in the close vicinity of stock. We also ask that guests don't ever go out and leave dogs alone in the hut. We always have an empty paddock where guests are able to freely run their dog. The many dogs who have visited us over the years can testify that Treworgey is a kind of doggy paradise!
